Smooshing Dotty Angles Card 1

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011806
I had a chance to do some stamping with a good friend the other night and we thought we would do some "smooshing".  So what on earth is "smooshing" I hear you ask?  Well it is a technique for making interesting and individual backgrounds on your cardstock - and it is so much fun!! I do recommend gloves so that you don't get too inkified.

Swipe a few ink pads onto some acetate window sheets (114323). Spritz well with some water (Stampin' Spritzer 126185). Angle the acetate around so that the colours blend a bit.  Grab a piece of Whisper White cardstock (106549) and pop it down on top of the acetate - press the cardstock down so that it takes up the ink and water and then peel it off.  You should now have an interesting background.

The background will change depending on how you swipe the ink pads - try swirls, horizontal lines, circles etc.

When you peel your cardstock off you can let it dry or you can help it along with a heat gun.

This background was created with Strawberry Slush (131178) and Hello Honey (133643) ink pads.

I have stamped over the "smooshed" background with one of the Dotty Angles stamps (133658) from the Annual Catalogue (p.98) in Perfect Plum (126963) ink.  I've also stamped the "thanks" and "for all you do" sentiments with Staz On Jet Black ink (101406) and Perfect Plum ink respectively. These stamps came from the recent Sale-A-Bration set "For Being You".

To finish the card off I have layered it up on Perfect Plum (108615) and Strawberry Slush (131300) cardstock and added some Dazzling Details (124117) to add some glitter to the the "thanks" sentiment. So pretty!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this card and reading about the technique to create it. Check back soon - I will be putting up another card on my blog using the "smooshing" technique.  I hope you get to try this technique out - I would love to see what you make too!

Happy crafting!
Lisa xx
